IDAHO! Get Your Home Winter Ready!

boise appliance repair
Anyone who has lived in the Northwest for any amount of time knows that the Winters can be rough!

What’s more, here in the Treasure Valley, they range wildly from mild to full blown snowmageddon – thankfully we’ve put together some tips to help you get your home Winter ready before the snow gets too deep.

Check the Detectors
Make sure the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are in working order! Running heaters and closed spaces can be added hazards during the cold months, so take extra care.

Insulate Pipes
Walk around the house and put some insulation around any exposed pipes. It doesn’t hurt to make sure your inside cabinets are well insulated as well. Make sure you’ve already long ago disconnected any outside hoses from water sources also!

Do The Walk Around
Basically just walk around the outside of your house! Take a look at things, check the siding for anything loose as well as the roof and gutters. Pick up any clutter, stow that bbq grill, and take care of other items that could get blown around during storms.

Service Check!
Your home doesn’t have a check engine light unfortunately. This means it’s up to you to keep an eye on things and take action before issues become real problems! Keep your home appliances regularly serviced can really make a different and help avoid break downs before they even happen!

Don’t let old man Winter catch you napping!
Busted pipes and other things can really put a damper on your holidays and even cost you thousands of dollars.
