Newflash Boise, Idaho! Winter is coming!
…and while that’s not really news, it happens every year, one thing that might make the news again this year is the weather! According to the almanacs and old bones we may be in for a wet cold one this year. One thing you don’t want to have to deal with is rushing out (4 times) to the fix-it store for parts in the middle of all of it!
That’s why we here at Home Appliance Service always recommend having your home appliances get a thorough look over and servicing before the coldest months of the year arrive! It just so happens that those cold months are also the prime holidays months when your kitchen – and the appliances! – can really take a beating. You might not whip that blender out any other time of year but when the holidays show up it’s all hands on deck!
And you know your washer and dryer will be getting a work out too if the kids are coming home for the holidays or from school! The good news is Home Appliance Service can help with all of your home appliance repair, appliance servicing, and appliance installing needs!
Save your pocketbook from panic and your drywall from dings – call Home Appliance Service Inc to fix all your Treasure Valley appliance needs!
It’s a tried and true fact: maintaining something in good condition is almost always more affordable than buying a replacement. The same goes for the appliances in your home! Often we get so used to relying on our home appliances to take care of us without issue we forget that like anything else they too need a little TLC from time to time.
Just imagine if you were running 24/7 365! You’d need a little rest too. And that’s part of what servicing does, it gives your appliances a chance to rest, get cleaned up, lubricated, and working like new.
No one likes paying more than they have to for something; regularly servicing your appliances helps keep you from having to shell out two, three, or even four times the cost of a service call in order to repair that old refrigerator or washer. It’s important to take care of things BEFORE they break!
Don’t wait until the ding ding ding sound becomes a BANG BANG BANG! Exercise is great – but no one wants their washing machine walking across the floor! Call Home Appliance Service Inc today and get your home running right!
Anyone who has lived in the Northwest for any amount of time knows that the Winters can be rough!
What’s more, here in the Treasure Valley, they range wildly from mild to full blown snowmageddon – thankfully we’ve put together some tips to help you get your home Winter ready before the snow gets too deep.
Check the Detectors
Make sure the batteries in your smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors are in working order! Running heaters and closed spaces can be added hazards during the cold months, so take extra care.
Walk around the house and put some insulation around any exposed pipes. It doesn’t hurt to make sure your inside cabinets are well insulated as well. Make sure you’ve already long ago disconnected any outside hoses from water sources also!
Do The Walk Around
Basically just walk around the outside of your house! Take a look at things, check the siding for anything loose as well as the roof and gutters. Pick up any clutter, stow that bbq grill, and take care of other items that could get blown around during storms.
Your home doesn’t have a check engine light unfortunately. This means it’s up to you to keep an eye on things and take action before issues become real problems! Keep your home appliances regularly serviced can really make a different and help avoid break downs before they even happen!
Don’t let old man Winter catch you napping!
Busted pipes and other things can really put a damper on your holidays and even cost you thousands of dollars.
Home Appliance Service Inc is happy to be able to provide the very best in appliance service and repair any time you call on us!
It’s full blown, jingle jangle, holiday season here in Idaho!
While the snow has been off and on the home life is non-stop – especially in the kitchen!
If you’re like many people the holidays are a time for friends and family and even a lot of unexpected company; it also means more time in the kitchen even if you’re not necessarily having people over. Appliance disasters are one thing that can really put a damper on holiday happenings and even bring the festivities to a full blown halt.
No one likes the possibility of a half-cooked turkey sitting in the oven because it went out again, or having to find a way to defrost things with a microwave that won’t work! The good news is Home Appliance Service is here to help!
There is still plenty of time to schedule a service call to get your home appliances checked out before the unfortunate has a chance to happen! And while we’re big fans of an ounce of prevention, should your appliances clunk out on you we’re only a call away.
We care about your home and helping you keeping it running smoothly long after the appliances are installed! After all, you already have enough to worry about without broken dishwashers and washing machines to deal with; that’s why we’re happy to be able to offer good advice that will keep your appliances – and you – happy for years to come.
Your sink is not a garbage shoot. A lot of people are stunned to discover this! Even if you have a garbage disposal in your sink it’s still not the best place just to dump whatever you have and forget about it – because if you do you may be setting yourself up for real trouble down the road! It’s not complicated to avoid however, in fact there’s really just three things you have to worry about never throwing down the drain and here they are:
Seems innocuous enough…SEEMS. Fact is these beloved tubers can cause real problems for your plumbing! Most people think that if the disposal will chew it up it’s okay to put it through, but that’s just not the case. While for the most part potato peels can go down the disposal since they are very fibrous and tough they often end up in big chunks that clog the pip further down the line. Your best bet is to put these, and other vegetable matter, in the compost bin for the garden.
No, not the beloved musical. The stuff that makes the food taste good! Unfortunately it can cause big trouble for your drain. Most people mistakenly think that as long as it’s warm and liquid it’s fine to pour away, but the truth is that grease cools down the pipe and solidifies into a nasty mess! No amount of hand jiving will solve that! Best course of action is not to pour it down the pipe in the first place.
Yep. We went there. Don’t just throw money down the drain! It’s easy to do without even thinking about it. One of the ways we see people do this most often is when they buy new appliances rather than repair the ones they have. While sometimes it is a smart idea to upgrade to a more efficient or feature rich machine, most times your current appliances will have lots of life left in them. The good news? Home Appliance Service Inc is here to help either way! We can get your appliances services and running great in no time, and if you do need new appliances we can help get them installed right. Give us a call to keep from throwing money down the drain and see how we can help!

Socks As Swiffers
Got some old mismatched socks? All out of pads for your trademark named pushmop? Just pop some of those orphaned socks on there and put them to work cleaning those floors!
Lemons for polishing
Just soak some lemon peels in a jar of vinegar for a few weeks and you’ve got a powerhouse cleaning duo! Perfect for kitchen and bathroom surfaces as well as just about any hard surface that needs to gleam.
Your kitchen cabinets probably have more splatters than you realize! Just mix a little baking soda and vegetable oil together and use an old but clean toothbrush to power through those sticky messes. Need some extra strength? Add a little coarse salt to this mixture!
This stuff is a real miracle worker! More than just for loosening bolts, you can use this amazing substance to remove coffee stains from tables, remove gum from floors, and even erase crayons off of walls.
